ER: Cease Misrepresenting Hon. Annoh Dompreh Despite Our Respect for You - Adoagyiri NPP Cautions Constituency Chairman

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality of the Eastern Region, have expressed their concerns to the constituency chairman, Mr. Francis Acquah Rockson, urging him to cease misrepresenting Hon. Annoh Dompreh, the Member of Parliament (MP), and the traditional authority.

The party members emphasized the importance of maintaining unity within the party and avoiding any actions that could potentially hinder their goal of achieving electoral success in the upcoming elections, highlighting the potential negative impact on their "break the 8" campaign.

The party members particularly emphasized the need for harmony with the traditional rulers, as any form of apathy or discord among the constituency could undermine their electoral prospects.

It is evident that the NPP Party members value and respect the constituency chairman, but they stress the importance of refraining from actions that could create misunderstandings and disrupt the party's vision for success.

SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT

Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen from the press.

We have convened here in our party office this morning to respond to some unfortunate comments made by our constituency chairman during the run-up to the just ended

parliamentary primaries of our party purposely to disgrace our Member of Parliament and Majority Chief Whip and sew seeds of discord between him and distinguished delegates of our dear party and by extension the mass voter population in Nsawam Adoagyiri.

He took to various media, peddled several untruths with unprintable words among others.

First of all, we want to state that we respect our chairman so much but again, if you have a constituency chairman who could boldly declare in public that he is capable of telling lies that destroys people for others to believe, then you can appreciate the sort of person we have as chairman.

Secondly, we want to emphasize that our revered traditional leaders have a very good relationship with our MP and that is why they openly declared support for him and went ahead to hold a press conference to call for a no contest on his behalf way before the primaries was held.

Our MP has always sought permission traditionally before carrying out any public activity during traditional bans on noise making and so those claims by our constituency chairman that seek to portray our MP as having disrespected the traditional authority are unfounded.

Ladies and Gentlmen, who is more arrogant than a constituency chairman who has been engaged in several brawls and unnecessary fights with delegates at Ahodwo electoral area and market people who have been voting for the party?

Our chairman has been the most beneficiary individual among all constituents in Nsawam Adoagyiri and so we find it extremely difficult to come to terms with his sudden position to destroy the party especially at this critical moment that we collectively seek to break the 8.

He has been given juicy contracts, some which he sold.

1. CHPS Compound at Yaw Djan

2. Renovation of Ahojo School

3. The new school building at Asiyaw

4. The new school building at Adoagyiri Methodist school, just to mention but a few

Ladies and gentlemen, our constituency chairman has not been comfortable with our MP mentioning what he has benefitted from him to delegates during his campaign and this is the straw that has broken the back of the camel.

On 16th January, the first vice chairman initiated a reconciliation exercise and invited our MP, Mr. Rockson (chairman), Mr. Asante Konadu (chairman of council of elders), Mr. Wilberforce Kojo Baah(chairman of electoral area co-ordinators), Jepthah Oduro wiafe (assistant secretary) and SK Mensah who also happens to be a respected chief in one of our communities and resolved all differences. Mr. Rockson promised never to repeat such utterances and behavior only for him to even escalate this matter just a day after its resolution. What is more disrespectful and arrogant than what our chairman did in this case where elders have sat to resolve the matter?

We heard in the media that our chairman was returning the huge sums of money he took from our MP and the Mercedes benz but it’s been almost two weeks and he hasn’t done that. We are keenly waiting to receive these goodies.

Colleagues and mediamen gathered here, together with one voice, the party wants to caution our chairman and advise him to stop hurling insults at our MP hence forth because, he is the

candidate that has been chosen by an overwhelming 77% of the delegate population and to be presented to the ordinary voter for the December 2024 election and any further derogatory remarks about him would not help our cause.

Enough of these, we think its rather important for us to focus and highlight the achievements of our Member of Parliament in the last few years of his occupancy of our parliamentary seat since those are going to form the major pillars of our campaign upon which people are going to pass a verdict through ballots on December 7, 2024.
