Take opportunities in Entrepreneurship Programs: Dr. Kyeremateng tells Ghanaian Youth

Image
The National Secretary for the National Projects Advocacy Group of the Ministry of Information, Dr Micheal Kyeremateng, has urged the youth to persist in their entrepreneurial dreams. According to him, the rising rate of unemployment in the country is a cause of worry owing to the fact that “90% of our youth depend on employment by state and private institutions for survival rather than being self employed”. He believes that the phenomenon though is helpful in the short term, would in the long term negatively impact the economy. Thus the need for the youth to be innovative and persist in their business pursuits to drive the economy forward. Dr Kyeremateng made this observation when he addressed some National Service Personnel during their end of service dinner in the Central Region under the theme “Entrepreneurship The Key to Sustainable Development”. Citing his personal experience as a way of encouraging the youth, the Secretary who doubles as the President of the C4C Group of Compani...

The Association said the move had become necessarily in the wake of the seeming global economic crisis that had reversed the positive gains recorded by the Akufo-Addo Government in recent years. In a statement signed by the Association’s National Secretary, Dr Michael Kojo Kyeremateng, it accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of “frustrating” the passage of the E-Levy, which was intended to shore up Government’s revenue in a bid to revive the economy. It said the NDC lacked the moral right to criticise the Government’s engagement’s with the IMF, saying that the Government’s inability to realise the revenue targets from the E-Levy was as a result of the opposition’s campaign against it. “In the quest to get the economy back on its feet, the Government introduced the E- Levy which was and is the only remedy to help Gh...

Image
The National Advocacy Association under the auspices of the New Patriotic Party has wave back at the National Democratic Congress over their heavy critics against the government decision to seek support from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). According to the group, the present government requesting IMF support is different from the last NDC administration. The group added that the Akufo-Addo's Government is seeking IMF support under the unfortunate circumstances of global economic crisis, and the quest to maintain the implementation of its flagship policies and programmes especially Free SHS/TVET, YouStart Policy, Infrastructure projects etc unlike the NDC who went to the IMF for mismanaging the economy. The group is of the view that, reasons the E-Levy is facing backlash despite it's implementation is as the result of NDC's opposition baseless critics convincing Ghanaians from the start. "In the quest to get back the economy on it feet, the government introduc...
